Where did March go? Nevermind, I'll get back to that. Right now I'm at the SuperHappyVlogHouse here at the "Hat Factory" co-working space, sitting next to Freevlog creators Michael Verdi and Ryanne Hodson and learning the simplest of basics of Video Blogging.
When I first arrived, Justin.tv was already on the scene, and I spent a few minutes chatting with him about various things like tagging, 3-d reconstruction from multiple video sources, holodecks etc. He says he uses Technorati to track references to his site. I also learned a sad new word today: griefing - causing someone grief (more severe than just pranking). Apparently he lists which events he will be going to on his website and a few of his "fans" use such information to cause trouble. Naturally I asked him if the events were marked up in hCalendar and suggested he do so, which would be yet another way for folks to keep up with him.
Back to vlogging. I've decided to simply use my current blog rather than create a new vlog. I just finished filtering out dozens of video clips that I took over the past 5+ years that have been hiding in my photo archive folders. Now I'm anguishing over the question of what video clip to start vlogging with. I think it would seem strange or at least out of context if I started with a clip from 2002. My videos are similar to my photos, a mix of random scenery, people, SXSW, odd things I've noticed, and even a few brief moments with friends. Oooh I found a clip that fits the title. If all goes well, the very next blog entry here will be a video post. Stay tuned and nevermind the scraping sounds or smoke pouring out between the pixels.
